Sue Hannaford is a fully qualified and insured Advanced Clinical Massage therapist and is a full member of the Complementary Therapists Association.
After many years working in a variety of environments from airports to accountants, in the late 1990s Sue decided to train in holistic body massage, always having had an interest in all things complementary.
She qualified in Body Massage and Anatomy & Physiology, gaining her ITEC Diploma (Credit) in January 2000. Whilst awaiting her final results she carried out dozens of massages in exchange for donations to help a large single parent family in Malawi.
Qualifying in Indian Head Massage in August 2000, she has completed specialist advanced massage training courses, including Hot Stone Fusion Massage - “a wonderful synergy of advanced massage techniques, hot & cold stone therapy and the practitioner’s own essential creativity”. She has carried out extensive training in Holistic Medical Massage techniques which focus on working with pain conditions such as neck and shoulder pain, on carpal tunnel syndrome and other wrist RSIs (repetitive strain injuries) and low back pain, as well as Myofascial Release. She gained a Certification in Advanced Clinical Massage Therapy as well as obtaining a qualification in Advanced Musculo-Skeletal Anatomy, the training for which enables her to provide effective treatments.
Passionate also about continuing her professional development in the wider field of alternative and complementary therapies she qualified in Progressive Kinesiology at Foundation level.
As a full member of the Complementary Therapists Association (was the International Guild of Professional Practitioners), Sue abides by their strict code of conduct regarding ethics and professional behaviour. She also carries full insurance.
